None of us want to look outdated and old.

CHANGE YOUR LAMPS OR SHADES
Nothing dates your decor faster than an overly elaborate lamp
or shades that are beaded, fringed and curvy.
The clean lines of today's contemporary decor bring straighter lamp shades
and simpler bases to the table.

with simpler bases in glass or ceramic
wood or metal. Silver and bronze still work, but brass or gold colored metals are back
brushed or antiqued - not shiny and bright like before...

Burlap and linen are dominant in lampshades.
You can change the look of the base of and older lamp and make it more current with a coat of paint...

sometimes all you need to do is change out the lampshade.
