EASY UPDATES FOR YOUR DECOR

None of us want to look outdated and old.

If your home could speak it would echo that sentiment.

You wouldn't sport a 20 year old hairstyle, or decades old clothing...

so why should your house be any different?

Updating the look of your decor doesn't have to be a major overhaul

if you take it in stages - a little at a time.

Here are some quick ways to make your decor more current:

CHANGE YOUR LAMPS OR SHADES

Nothing dates your decor faster than an overly elaborate lamp

or shades that are beaded, fringed and curvy.

The clean lines of today's contemporary decor bring straighter lamp shades

and simpler bases to the table.

 today's lamps have straigher shades

with simpler bases in glass or ceramic

wood or metal.  Silver and bronze still work, but brass or gold colored metals are back

brushed or antiqued - not shiny and bright like before...

ceramic bases are big

rustic is in

especially in wood and faux wood treatments.

Burlap and linen are dominant in lampshades.

You can change the look of the base of and older lamp and make it more current with a coat of paint...

but...

sometimes all you need to do is change out the lampshade.

change this....

to this...

Or get new lamps... simple...
